Meristematic tissue

The tissues (group of cells) which undergoes repeated cell division. At the tip of the plant, there is apical meristem. Those tissue helps the plant to grow longer. If the apical meristem is cuts accidentally, then the plant no longer grow and dies.

Permanent tissue

The tissues (group of cells) which does not undergo repeated cell division. The middle portion of the plant cells is permanent tissue.

Overall the plant growth depends on the apical meristematic cells.
