What rights are described in the Declaration of Independence? Did they apply to all citizens of the colonies? Why or why not?

Answer: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

The Declaration of Independence was mainly for white men, blacks, and women were excluded from these rights until many years later.
