Janine. Measure the size of a rectangle and found that the sides were 12 inches and 24 in.² Howard measure the same rectangle and found that the sides where are 1 foot and 2 feet when they’re math teacher ask them for the area Janine said 288 and Howard said to why did they get two different numbers for the same area of the same rectangle

They had two different answers because the two students used different units of measurement. The first student measured the rectangle in inches, while the second measured them in feet. Both of the measurements are congruent, as 12 in. = 1 ft. and 24 in. = 2 ft.
