The rule of probability is

P(A)=\frac{A}{\text{total}}

Since the die has 6 numbers, then

The total = 6

Since there are 5 numbers without 3, then

A = 5

Substitute them in the rule above

P(\text{not}3)=(5)/(6)

The answer is 5/6
