German troops could have entered France by going through Switzerland. Use what you know about both political and physical geography to explain why it made more sense for them to go through Belgium

Answer:

Belgium was neutral (they wouldn't have to intervene or be involved with what the German's were doing). Belgium also had a way to get to France by water/boat which made things more convenient for Germany.
