I’m actually learning about this lol. Basically they imposed the Navigation Acts. This meant that no country’s besides england could trade with the colonies UNLESS they used british ships. That way if they made them use british ships to transport the goods then they still had a reason to tax them. The goods being shipped to other countries also had to be loaded at english docks.
