x = 28°

Since L and M are parallel lines (to one another), any diagonal line (also known as transversals) connecting the two will create pairs of congruent angles. For angle x, it’s congruent counterpart is the acute angle on the opposite side of the transversal. They are alternate angles.

I tried to draw a picture to show the relationships among the angles but it’s a little messy. Here:
