Answer: the middle colonies have rich
farmland and a moderate climate more
suitable to grow crops and raise livestock. southern colonies are known for there "cash crops" like rice, tobacco, and indigo. the north depended on fur trade and fishing to bring in money and they also had a much cooler climate so they couldn't grow many crops let alone raise any livestock.
