you know the area of a rectangle or square is length x width, we do the same here.

so we have a length of (x+5) and because its a square we do (x+5)(x+5) which is


{x}^(2) + 10x + 25

and we know the area of the square is 30 so we make the expression above equal to 30 and take 25 away from both sides to get the wanted equation
