Whats the difference between reading and scanning

With reading, your focusing on the words and taking your time while “reading” something. On the other hand, scanning is when you’re quickly looking at a paper for example when you’re looking for an answer in a book, and you briefly just zoom through it.

Reading is when you are reading each word of the text while scanning is when you are briefly and quickly looking at the text.
