Kathryn is writing a problem and solution essay about the lionfish. Her thesis statement reads:
The Florida Wildlife Commission says the lionfish, which looks disgusting, is a species causing horrible problems for the fishing industry in Florida and
I believe that we need to stop it before it eats all of the cute baby snapper and grouper.
What makes this thesis statement ineffective?

Answer:

The thesis is inaccurate since it mentions about a dislike towards the lionfish just by the way they look. Also, the lionfish aren't causing any problems to the fishing industry and there is no adequate proof of that. This thesis statement shows unnecessary hatred towards a harmless species.
