Answer:

-3 X (x^2 - 8)

Explanation:

put "the square of a number decreased by 8" in parentheses so when -3 is multiplied with that, it does not get multiplied with y^2 and -8.

anytime you see "a number" in a sentence, put it as a random variable, in this case, I decided it should be "x".
