For example, YV/YB=YH/YA.

Now we have to find the ratio of the sides which can be done using the lengths of segments YB and YV. YB=16 YV=16+22=38 38/16=2.375

2.375 is our ratio.

Next we are going to find the length of YH so we can determine x.

YA=17 YH=17*2.375=40.375

The length of side YH=40.375 which is equal to x.
