Ok so how I got it would be:

Since you want to see how much she would have left, you would multiple how much gas she uses in one hour times how many hours she's driven. Then to see how much she would have left, you would subtract by the capacity of the car, which is 12. Make sure you put the amount of gas used in parentheses to make sure you don't evaluate the equation wrong.

For example, say Charlotte drives for 2 hours. Plug the values into the equation:

g=12-(0.75[2])

Evaluating:

g=12-(1.5)

g=10.5

Charlotte would have 10.5 gallons left after 2 hours of driving
