Figure m n p q r is translated right 7 units and rotated 90 degrees clockwise about point R. The result of the transformations is shown in the graph below

Which line segment was parallel to QP in the original figure?
- MN
- MR
- NP

Answer: NP

Explanation:

After translation of 7 units:

M=(2+7, -2). N=(7+7, -2). R=(6+7, -6). Q=(2+7, -10). P=(7+7, -10)

M=(9, -2). N=(14, -2). R=(13, -6). Q=(9, -10). P=(14, -10)

After 90 degree rotation:

M=(17, -2). N=(17, -7). R=(13, -6). Q=(9, -2). P=(9, -7)

Coordinates that have the same y-coordinates: M and Q, and N and P

M and Q don't form a straight line, but N and P do.

Hence, answer is NP
