STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. if you’d like to be a doctor, you have to study science and math in college, and will study technology once in medical school to adapt to the environment. as any kind of engineer, fluency in math is a requirement, and engineering jobs often entail technology. as an astronaut, engineering and technology is fundamental.
