Answer: The roles of women and freedom

Step-by-step explanation:

Women: Women were expected to support each other in times of birth, death and sickness. Within a household, women were supposed to work together to fulfill the different “functions” of their gender. The most important idea was Moira's belief that living solely with women would solve many of the problems women were facing. However, the utopian ideal of this community is far from the reality of their situation.

Freedom: Because of the events of the book, it's impossible for the narrator to really achieve freedom at the end of the book. While the narrator remains confined to her position as Handmaid for the majority of the novel, her determination to keep reliving her many flashbacks and memories helps keep her intellectually free. So, though her physical self still isn’t free, she can feel free, mentally. Thus, the question is rather if mental freedom is as important as physical freedom.
