❄ Hi there,

let us start by considering this: What should we do to get x all by itself?

Since it's

  • divided by 4
  • multiplied by -1

we should

  • multiply (both sides) by 4
  • divide (both sides) by -1

So, let's start.

\sf{(-x)/(4)*4 < 2*4}}

\sf{-x < -8}

\sf{x > 8}

When we divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, we do "the inequality flip" and flip the inequality sign.
