Anne's family failed to flee their enemy and the Syrians are experiencing this also. Both of these wars and anti-Jew/anti-Syrian show that both are fueled by fear. Some thought that the Nazis might plant spies among the Jewish refugees. Syrians face the same type of situation as American politicians and government leaders make it difficult for people to enter the US. Discrimination has always shown it's ugly head. They are all discriminated against because of their ethnicity, their religion, and some are just heartless and kill people.
