basketball game. If they scored 45 points, how many did Ally score?

P=2(L+W)=118, using L from above makes this

2(4W-1+W)=118,

2(5W-1)=118

5W-1=59

5W=60

W=12, and since L=4W-1

L=4(12)-1

L=47

So the length is 47ft and the width is 12ft

2.

A=7G+5

7G=A-5

G=(A-5)/7, and we are told A+G=45, using G=(A-5)/7 gives us

A+(A-5)/7=45

(7A+A-5)/7=45

(8A-5)/7=45

8A-5=315

8A=320

A=40

So Ally scored 40 points.
