so I’m not sure what area is because I struggle with it too.
But perimeter is like adding all the sides together
so: 5x+2+X+8+5x+2+X+8
You collect all the terms which is 5x and X then that gives u 12x+2+8+2+8
Keep the 12x But add all the other numbers
so ur answer for perimeter would be
(12x+20)
