Let x and y be the two numbers.

x + y = 46

x = 3y - 2

Put value of x from equation 2nd to 1st

4y - 2 = 46

y = 48/4 = 12

x =3*12 - 2 = 34

So, the two numbers are (34,12)

The sum of two numbers is 46. The larger number is two less than three times the smaller number. Find the numbers?
