y = 2x + 1

Explanation:

As we know, the slop formula is
y = mx+c

So, if we substitute the slope into this,


y = 2x+c

Now if we substitute x and y from the point (2,5) into this,


5 = 2(2) + c\\5 = 4 + c\\c = 5-4\\c = 1

Hence, when we substitute c,

y = 2x+1

As we know, slope is rise / run, so if the slope is 2, we know there is an invisible one. That would mean it the slope rises up two, and one across. Graph (2,5) and go down from there until you hit the y-intercept, and your final answer or function will be

y=2x+1
