You have to distribute and then subtract the 5 from one side and balence out the equation so N=4

Explanation:

1/2(n + 2) + 4 = 3n - 5

1/2n + 5 = 3n - 5

- 5 | - 5

1/2n = 3n - 10

- 3n | - 3n

-5/2n = -10

* 2 | * 2

-5n = -20
