if an animal does not consume glucose, how is the body still able to obtain the energy needed for cell process

If an animal does not consume glucose which is very complex,it could mean the animal is either saprophytic(breaking down glucose outside the body before ingestion)or parasitic(depending on already broken down glucose from a host)
