A company sells widgets. The amount of profit, y, made by the company, is related to

the selling price of each widget, x, by the given equation. Using this equation, find out
what price the widgets should be sold for, to the nearest cent, for the company to
make the maximum profit.
y = x^2+ 83x – 609

d2y/dx2=2

Since acceleration is positive, when dy/dx=0, it will be a global minimum. Also since acceleration is a positive constant there is no maximum profit as it is always increasing.

Answer: 41.5

for y=-x^2+83x-609 because it appears that there is a typo
