Why were Americans able to buy more goods?

A. They traveled outside the country.
B. They had no jobs, but things did not cost as much
C. They had jobs, and more goods were available.
D. The Long Depression made goods less expensive.

Mass production techniques reduced manufacturing costs and therefore reduced the prices for consumers. I would say C, since men worked in burgeoning industries such as automobile manufacturing. So they could make money to buy goods.
