What are the zeros of the function
f(x) = x2 - 11x + 24?

The middle term of -11x can be split into -8x and -3x
We thus get the equation:
x^2-8x-3x+24
x(x-8)-3(x-8)
(x-3)(x-8)
Thus the zeroes are +3 and +8.
