Why is it harder to forgive yourself than to forgive others?

its because you put pressure on yourself, and you know what you have done. You can forgive other's easily because they don't look or act like you. You have an anxiety and depression you wish you never had. Its like comparing your beauty with other's beauty. you may seem small. but you are still so big

The bitter irony is that the people who perhaps most need and deserve to forgive themselves cannot. The necessary reflection and acknowledgment can be very difficult, because some people are burdened by forms of self-deception. Self-deception makes it difficult to identify when self-forgiveness is appropriate.
