You are a settler moving west. You will keep a journal to describe what happens to you along the trail. Be creative and historically accurate as you write your journal entries. Make sure that what you write could have actually happened.

Today we slogged through the mud and it rained most of the day after that. We are almost to Sutter’s Fort and I think we will make it through in time to see the rest of my family. I think tomorrow we will have more mud to walk through.
