Answer:The advantages of a majority rule system of decision-making is that it appears to implement popular sovereignty, i.e., rule by the people. It’s disadvantage is that it provides self-seeking candidates for the cover they need to claim a mandate for their own goals when they win elections with majorities that are actually pluralities. Genuine popular sovereignty can only be achieved by honest discussion and deliberation among all people affected by any decision, not by the manipulation and vote suppression upon which contemporary political campaign depend.
