To find how many candy canes we have to remember that there are 5 candy canes for every 9 presents.

108 is divisible by 9 so we do the equation:

108 ÷ 9 = 12

Now we multiply 12 by 5 since theres 5 candy canes per 9 presents

12 × 5 = 60

To check our work we can divide-

9 ÷ 5 = 1.8

108 ÷ 60 = 1.8
