Answer: x=23

Explanation:

  • (x+3)2-3=49. The 2 will multiply the bracket, thus 2 will multiply everything inside the bracket.
  • It then becomes, 2x+6-3=49.
  • 2x+(6-3) =49
  • 2x+3=49
  • 2x=49-3 (since we have to make x stand on its own)
  • 2x=46
  • Now 2 will divide both sides. 2 divides 2x leaving only x. 2 divides 46, 23 times. So, in solving, this is how it appears,
(2x)/(2)=(46)/(2) which becomes x=23. The answer is x=23
