Experiences are indeed subjective because they are influenced by an individual’s unique perceptions, emotions, and personal context. What one person finds enjoyable or meaningful may not be the same for another person. Here’s an example to illustrate this:
Imagine two people attending a music concert featuring their favorite band. Person A has been a fan of the band for years and has been looking forward to this concert for a long time. They find the music electrifying, feel a strong emotional connection to the lyrics, and describe the experience as one of the best nights of their life.
On the other hand, Person B was dragged along by a friend and doesn’t particularly like the band’s music. They find the concert loud and crowded, and they can’t wait for it to end.
In this example, the same event (the concert) results in vastly different experiences for Person A and Person B. Their perceptions, emotions, and personal preferences shape their subjective experiences of the same objective event, highlighting the subjectivity of experiences.
