Answer:

A = $70

B = $35

C = $25

Explanation:

Let A, B and C stand for the money Abby, Ben, and Cam each have.

"Abby has twice as much money as much money as Ben" can be written as:

A = 2B

"Ben has $10 dollars more than Cam" can be written as:

B = C + 10

"Abby, Ben, and Cam have $130 together" can be written as:

A + B + C = $130

Knowing the value of B (from above) we can substitute that definition into the first equation:

A = 2B

A = 2*(C+10)

The total amount of money is: A + B + C = Total

Substituting the two equations above for A and B:

A + B + C = Total

[2*(C+10)] + [C + 10] + C = Total

2C + 20 +C + 10 + C = Total

4C + 20 = Total

We know the total ($130), so we can find C:

4C + 20 = $120

4C = $100

C = $25

We know that B = C + 10

B = $25 + 10

B = $35

We also found that A = 2B

A = 2*($35)

A = $70

=============

A = $70

B = $35

C = $25

Total = $130 YES (Checks)

Does Abbey have twice as much money as Ben?:

2*($35) = $70 YES

Does Ben have $10 more than Cam?:

$25 + $10 = $35 YES
