The second equation is the definition of 'y'....SUBSTITUTE this value of 'y' into the first equation...then solve for the 'x' coordiante :

.3x - (2 + .25x) =0

.3x - 2 - .25x = 0

.05x = 2

x = 40

Use this value of 'x' in one of the equations to find the 'y' coordinate

y = 2 + .25x

y = 2 + .25 (40)

y = 12
