Length = x

Width = 1/2x -4

2 times length + 2 times width = perimeter

2x + 2(1/2x - 4) = 112 cm

2x + 2/2 x - 8 = 112 cm

2x + x = 112 + 8

3x = 120

x = 120/3

x = 40

Width = 40/2 - 4
