A Chevrolet dealership pays the following commission to their salespeople: if the profit is under $2,000, the salesperson makes 15%; if the profit is $2,000 or more, the salesperson makes 20%. Find the difference in the commission earned if a salesperson has $1,999 of profit, or $2,001 of profit.

Answer:

profit<$2000:

profit $1999,

commission: 1999*15/100=$299.85

profit>$2000

profit $2001

commission: 2000*20/100=$400

difference between the commission earned if a seller makes a profit of $1,999 or $2,001.

400-299.85=$100.15
