Cultural standards of beauty can affect a child’s self esteem in many different way. Cultural beauty standards can range for the color of your skin to the clothes your wearing. In countries like japan the beauty standard is to have pale light skin, this can effect a Japanese child’s self esteem because a child who may be naturally darker might find themselves feeling less attractive or less confident then other children.
