Answer: fraction exponent rule

Explanation:

1) we use the fraction exponent rule to rewrite sqrt(12) = 12^1/2

2) from the image under fractional exponent our a = 12, x = 1, y = 2.

*note* for square root it is not written but there is a 2 on the corner of the square root roof. The reason it is not written is because it is common knowledge that it is there (although if you're new its not common to you).

3) using the formula in the factional exponent we can go back and forth in writing roots and exponents.
