Answer:

Hope this helps in your assigment :)

Explanation:

I am not sure what the goal of this assignment is but I will try to solve for all the possibilities I know how to solve

Solve for x (set y=0)

2x-2y=5

2x=5+2y (Divide by 2)

x =5+2y/2

x =5+2(0)/2

x= 5/2

x= 2 1/2

Solve for y (set x= 0)

2x-2y=5

-2y=5-2x (Multiple by -1)

2y =-5+2x (Divide by 2)

y = -5 +2x/2

y = -5 +2(0)/2

y=-5/2

y=-2 1/2

solve for x (set y = 0)

x-y=-4

x= -4+y

x=-4

solve for y (set x =0)

x-y=-4

-y=-4-x(multiply by -1)

y=4+x

y=4

solve using x value from below

2(-4) -2y = 5

-8 -2y =5

-2y= 13(multiply by -1)

2y = -13 (divide by 2)

y = -13/2

solve using y value from below

2x -2(4)= 5

2x -8 =5

2x = 13

x= 13/2

Answer:

Explanation:

This is a system of equations.

To solve, multiply the bottom equation by two to get 2x - 2y= -8

This gets the two equations:

2x - 2y = 5

2x - 2y = -8

Because both of these equations are the same on the left, but are equal to something else on the right, there is no possible solution. These two lines are parallel and do not intersect at any point.
