make the equation (both angles equal the whole)

6x + 13 + 6x + 13 = 170

add the sums

12x + 26 = 170

minus 26 from both sides

12x + 26 = 170

-26 -26

divide 12 from both sides

12x = 144

/12 /12

x = 12

put the answer into the original angle equation

DEY = 6(12) + 13

DEY = 72 + 13

DEY = 85
