How do gas-liquid and gas-solid chromatography differ?

The process of passing a mixture of volatile chemicals down a column containing a liquid stationary phase with differential migration is known as gas-liquid chromatography. The process of passing a mixture of volatile substances down a column containing a solid stationary phase with differential migration is known as gas-solid chromatography.
