(x-4)^2 + 6

Explanation:

(x-a)^2 + b = x^2 - 2xa + a^2 + b

x^2 -2xa +a^2 + 6 = x^2 -8x +22

Hence:

-2xa = -8xa

a^2 + b = 22

b = 22 - a^2

b = 22 - 16

b = 6
