That's false! While some Plains Indians did follow buffalo herds on a seasonal basis, many others had permanent settlements. The Sioux, for example, lived in earth lodges in the winter and used tipis for hunting expeditions and summer buffalo hunts. The Mandan people also had permanent villages in the plains, and the Pawnee lived in earth lodges year-round. So while some tribes did move around to follow the buffalo, many had permanent homes. The myth of the "nomadic Indian" is a stereotype that doesn't capture the complexity of indigenous cultures. You’re welcome
