Two trains going in opposite directions leave at the same time. Train B travels 30 mph faster than train A. In 5 hours the trains are 550 miles apart. Find the speed of each.

Answer:

x = Train A's speed

x + 30 = Train B's speed

5(x + x + 30) = 550

2x + 30 = 110

2x = 80

x = 40

Train A's speed = 40 mph

Train B's speed = 70 mph
