The temperature in a town is 20.5°F during the day and -20.3°F at night. Find the difference in the temperatures

To find this answer you’d subtract the two values since it says to find the difference. 20.5°F - -20.3°F this would turn into a plus sign because you’re subtracting a negative number. 20.5°F+20.3°F=40.8. Therefore the difference in the two temperatures would be 40.8°F.
