Equations
The whole point of equations is to find the value of the variable by isolating it on one side of the equation. We use inverse operations to isolate the variable. Let me show you how this works.
Given equation:
v + 6.4 = -5.49
In order to isolate v, subtract 6.4 from both sides;
v = -5.49 - 6.4
v = -11.89
Therefore, v = -11.89.
