What structural feature distinguishes a plateau from a plain?from a valley?

Answer:

A plain is a flat field on ground level, a valley is a narrow passge in between a mountain. The difference between these two landmarks and a plateau is that a plateau is a flat surface on top of a mountain/hill, and not on flat ground.
