On a game show, there are 3 doors. Behind one door, there is £1000 and behind another, there is a spider! Behind the other door there is nothing. Each door has a notice. However, only one notice is true. 1 There is nothing behind door 3. 2 The spider is behind this door. Behind which door is £1000? 3 There is a spider behind door 1.

Answer:

Explanation:

One way to solve this question is to use the TRIAL & ERROR method.

First, we assume that the notice on Door 1 is true and notices on Door 2 and 3 are false.

However, you will soon discover that this assumption does not fit. Therefore, since Door 1 cannot be true, it has to be false.

This assumption fits nicely and we will discover that the spider is behind Door 2 and the £1000 is behind Door 3.
